1860.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the president
and managers of said company shall keep a fair
and just account of all moneys received, either by
subscription or for penalties received as aforesaid,
and of all moneys paid out in the prosecution of
said work, and shall, once a year, submit such ac-
count to a general meeting of the stockholders.

CHAP. 362.

Accounts.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That in case the said
company shall not be able to agree with the owner
or owners of any land over or through whose lands
the said road may be made it shall be lawful for
said company to cause any justice of the peace of
Frederick or Carroll counties, as the case may be,
to issue his warrant to the sheriff, directing him to
summon twelve impartial jurors, to meet on said
land, on a day to be thence named, to assess the
damages sustained by said owner or owners, by
reason of said road passing through such land,
which inquisition shall be returned to the clerk's
office, and either party shall have the right to ap-
peal to the Circuit court of Frederick or Carroll
counties, as the case may be, from the verdict or
finding of said jury, within sixty days from the
date of said verdict.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 352.

In force.

AN ACT to release from the payment of interest
the sureties on the official bond of James W.
Story, collector of taxes for Queen Anne's coun-
ty, in the year eighteen" hundred and fifty-five.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sureties on the official bond
of James W. Story, collector of State taxes for
Queen Anne's county, for the year eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-five, be and they are hereby released
