AN ACT for the benefit of James Maurice, Thomas
B. Bourne and Margaret Louisa Bourne, his wife
and others.
|

|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, doubts exist whether by virtue of a
deed from said Bourne and wife, to said James
Maurice, dated the thirteenth day of February,
eighteen hundred and fifty-two, and duly recorded,
conveying from the latter to the former, a tract of
land lying in Calvert county, called Bachelors
Quarter, the said Maurice Bourne and wife, had
the power to sell the said land to Joseph O. Fowler,
as they did on the twenty-third day of January,
eighteen hundred fifty-five, and received the sum
of two thousand dollars of the purchase money;
and whereas, it is for the benefit of all the parties
interested, that this doubt should be remedied and
the sale be consummated, therefore,

Authorised
to convey.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That upon the payment of the balance
of the purchase money, the said James Maurice and
Thomas B. Bourne and wile, be and they are hereby
authorised to convey the said lands, to the said
Joseph O. Fowler, his heirs and assigns forever.

AN ACT to incorporate the Merchant's Hotel com-
pany, of Baltimore city.
|

|
Incorporated.
|
SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That S. Parkhurst, Robert H. Archer,
P. J. Bartholow, James P. Archer, John E. Wil-
son and all and every other person or persons here-
after becoming members of the Merchants' Hotel
company, of Baltimore city, in the manner herein-
after mentioned, their successors and assigns, shall
be and they are hereby created and declared to be
a body politic, by the name and style of the Mer-
chants' Hotel company, of Baltimore city, and by
