CHAP. 294.

CHAPTER 294.

Passed March
3, 1860.

AN ACT entitled, an act to add the following
sections, relating to Schools, to article sixteen
of the Code of Public Local Laws:

Authorised
to deliver
books.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the commissioners of tax of
Prince George's county, are hereby directed to de-
liver to the board of trustees of primary schools,
the books containing the metes and bounds, cour-
ses and distances of the original school districts
erected in said county.

New school.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the board of
trustees of primary schools, shall la) out new school
districts, build schoolhouses thereon, and condemn
any land on which to erect the same.

&c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That they shall ap-
point three commissioners for each school district
of which the boundry lines are not now recorded or
for such school districts as may hereafter be laid
out, whose duty it shall be to lay off and clearly
define the metes and bounds of each of said school
districts, and report the same to the board of trus-
tees, and if three or more of the taxable inhabi-
tants or patrons of such school districts shall be
aggrieved by the report of said commissioners,
they may be heard before the board of trustees
within twelve months from the time of filing of
said report or reports, and said board of trustees
may in their discretion reject the reports, and re-
turn the same to the commissioners aforesaid for
such amendments as the board may direct, and the
commissioners shall receive the sum of two dollars
per day each, for said service, to be paid out of the
school fund of the county.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
