AN ACT to provide for the copying or transcribing
a record in the office of the Register of Wills in
Montgomery county.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the register of wills of Mont-
gomery county, be, and he is hereby authorised and
empowered, if in the opinion of the Orphans' court
of said county, it is necessary for the preservation
of the records of said court and the requirements of
the public interest to obtain a suitable record book,
and to copy and transcribe therein the contents of
Liber C, one of the records in the office of said regis-
ter of wills and index the same in the usual man-
ner of arranging records in said office.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That upon the com-
pletion of the record book as hereinbefore provided,
and the approval and acceptance of the same by the
Orphans' court of Montgomery, the county commis-
sioners of said county, may on the presentation to
them of such evidence as they may deem sufficient
of the approval and acceptance of said record book,
by the Orphans' court as aforesaid, and the entire
completion of the same, levy such an amount of
money for the use of said Register as they may
deem sufficient, to compensate him for transcribing
or copying said record and indexing the same;

provided, such amount shall not exceed the sum of
hundred dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into operation on the day of its passage.
|
