CHAP. 268.

not within twenty years afterward complete the
said road from Frederick to the Spout Spring, as
aforesaid, according to the true interest and mean-
ing of this act; then in either of these cases it
shall and may be lawful for the State to remove all
and singular, the rights, liberties and privileges
hereby granted to said company.

In force.

SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage by the Legis-
lature.

Construction.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall be construed so as to authorise said
corporation, to issue any note, token or scrip, de-
vise or other evidence of debt to be used as money,
and that the Legislature reserves to itself the right
to alter or amend, or modify this act of incorpora-
tion.

CHAPTER 268.

7, 1860.

AN ACT to authorise the Trustees of the Mount

Pleasant Schoolhouse, near Bakersville, in
Washington county, to sell the same, and ap-
propriate the funds to the building of another
School House on the Bakersville Church lot.

Authorised
to sell.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the trustees of the Mount
Pleasant Schoolhouse, near Bakersville be, and
they are hereby authorised to sell at public or pri-
vate sale as they may deem expedient, the Mount
Pleasant Schoolhouse, near Bakersville, in Wash-
ington county, and upon the payment of the pur-
chase money, the said trustees are hereby autho-
rised and empowered to convey by good and suffi-
cient deed to the purchaser or purchasers thereof,
the aforesaid schoolhouse.

Proceeds.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said
trustees shall have power and authority to apply
the proceeds of said sale to the building of a
school house on the old Bakersville Church lot.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.
