CHAPTER 269.

CHAP. 270.

AN ACT to provide for a general Index of Judg-
ments in Queen Anne's county.

Passed March
5, 1860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the clerk of the Circuit court
for Queen Anne's county, be and he is hereby
authorised and directed to index all judgments and
decrees standing on the dockets of said court, and
of Queen Anne's county court, for the last twelve
years past, in the names of all the parties to such
judgments and decrees.

SEC. 2. That the county commissioners for Queen
Anne's county, be and they are hereby authorised
and required to levy upon the assessable proper-
ty of said county a sum sufficient to pay the clerk
of said court for the expenses incurred and the ser-
vices required by this act.

Compensation.

SEC. 3. That this act shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 270.

In force.

AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore Union
Works.

1, 1860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Robert Poole, German H. Hunt,
Thomas M. Smith, John Curlett and John M.
Smith, their associates, successors and assigns, be
and they are hereby incorporated and created a
corporation and body politic, by the name of the
Baltimore Union Works, and by that name may
have perpetual succession, may sue and be sued,
may make and use a common seal and alter the
same at pleasure, and may do and perform all such
other acts in relation to the objects and purposes of
their incorporation hereinafter declared and neces-
sary for the exercise of the powers and rights
granted to the said corporation by this act which

any other corporate body may lawfully do; Pro-
vided, such acts be not contrary to law.
