of constructing the same themselves) on such terms,
and for such period as may be agreed upon, and
their grantee or grantees shall have all the powers
and privileges hereby given to said president, man-
agers and company, so far as relates to the making
and working of said railway, and to the collecting
of tolls or fare from the passengers, and subject to
the limitations and conditions imposed on the said
president and managers.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect when the same shall be accepted by a
majority, in value, of the stockholders of said com-
pany, at a general^meeting, to be called to deter-
mine upon its acceptance or rejection.

AN ACT to authorise and empower the Trustees
of the Methodist Episcopal Church, known as the
Hall's Cross-Roads Methodist Episcopal Church,
in Queen Anne's county, to sell and convey the
church lot upon which the said church is built,
and to invest the proceeds thereof in the purchase
of another lot, and to build a new house of public
worship thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Joseph Richardson, James Cov-
ington, William Richardson, John W. Tarman;
James Reed, David N. Smith, Wm. H. Higgins,
Wm. B. Legg and William Holbrook, trustees of
the Methodist Episcopal Church of Hall's Cross-
Roads, in Queen Anne's county, and their succes-
sors in office, or a majority of them, be, and they are
hereby authorised and empowered to sell all that lot
or parcel of ground lying and being at Hall's Cross-
Roads, in Queen Anne's county, with a church
building thereon, which is particularly described
in a deed from Benjamin Hall and wife to the trus-
tees therein named, dated sixteenth day of Septem-
ber, in the year seventeen hundred and ninety,
