CHAP. 246.

ten dollars for every such offence, for the use of the
county in which said forfeiture shall be incurred.

Road protect-
ed from in-
jury.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That if any person or
persons shall wilfully, by any means whatsoever, in-
jure impair or destroy any part of said road, or any
of its necessary works and buildings, or place any
obstructions on said road, or if any person or per-
sons shall effect or attempt to effect an entrance
through any toll gate on said road, by force, vio-
lence or intimidation, such person or persons so
offending, shall be subject to indictment in the
Circuit court of the county wherein the offence
shall be committed, and upon conviction of such
offences, shall be punished by fine and imprison-
ment in the discretion of the court.

Carriages,
&c. — how to
be driven.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the drivers of
carriages and vehicles of all kinds, shall keep their
horses and vehicles on the right-hand side of said
road, leaving the other side clear and free for
vehicles to pass and repass, and if any driver shall
offend against this provision, he shall forfeit and
pay not exceeding ten dollars, to any person who
shall be obstructed in his passage, the same to be
recovered as in debt, with costs, before any justice
of the peace of the county where such offence may
occur.

Reservation.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That the Legislature
may amend or repeal this act at pleasure.

In force.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to correct the clerical errors upon the
reprint of the Code.

Errors cor-
rected.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That upon the printing of the Code,
the following clerical errors shall be corrected:
First, those stated at the end of the volume of Pub-
lic General Laws as errata, correcting the same as
follows: the errata reported on page 84, section 88,
