CHAP. 244.

said county, at their next annual meeting for lay-
ing county or State taxes, or either of them, the
sum of eighty-two dollars and fifty cents, expended
by Silas Browning, late sheriff of said county, for
the more effectual safe-keeping of a prisoner ar-
rested and detained under a proclamation of the
Governor in the summer of eighteen hundred and
fifty-eight, for the use of the trustee of the sureties
of said Browning.

AN ACT to pay John T. Wright a sum of money
for services rendered as assistant doorkeeper to
the Senate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of the State be
and he is hereby authorised and directed to pay
John T. Wright, upon the warrant of the Comp-
troller of the State, the sum of two hundred dollars,
for services rendered as assistant doorkeeper to the
Senate, since the adjournment of the last General
Assembly of Maryland, under order by the Senate,
at January session, eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight, as per Senate Journal, page six hundred
and eight.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
