CHAPTER 211.

Passed Feb.
29, 1860.

AN ACT to authorise Samuel Swan to settle his
accounts as guardian to John Hancock, and de-
liver over the estate to his said ward.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General As-
sembly, that John Hancock, a minor, now in his
twentieth year, is of good moral character, of sober
and industrious habits, and who is desirous of get-
ting possession of his property, now in the hands
of his guardian, Samuel Swan; and Whereas, the
said guardian is desirous that his ward may receive
all his property and be allowed to act as a man of
full age in reference thereto:

Authorised
to pass final
account.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly,
That Samuel Swan, guardian to John Hancock, a
minor, be, and he is hereby, authorized to pass his
final account as guardian before the Orphan's Court
of Charles county, and to pay over and deliver to
the said John Hancock all property and money
that may be due to him on said final account, and
to take his receipt for the same, which shall be ac-
knowledged and recorded in the office of the Regis-
ter of Wills of said county, and have the same
effect as if the same was executed by a person of
full age.

Guardian's
compensa-
tion.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said court in
making said settlement, and passing said account,
shall allow the said Samuel Swan for all moneys
bona fide paid by him to and for the use of said
John Hancock, and for liabilities assumed and en-
tered into by him for his account up to the time of
said settlement with the said court; Provided, the
said court shall deem the same reasonable.

Minor an-
swerable for
debts, &c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That from and after
the passage of this act the said John Hancock shall
be answerable for all debts, contracts and liabilities
made and entered into by him, and may sue and
be sued as fully as if he were of full age.

In force.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
