they are hereby incorporated, and made a body cor-
porate and politic, by the name of the Old School
Regular Particular Baptist church, and by that
name shall have succession, and be able to sue and
be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any court of
law and equity, and may have and use a common
seal and the same alter and renew at pleasure.

By-laws.
|
SEC.. 2. And be it enacted, That a majority of
the said corporation may have full power to make
all such rules and by-laws for the government and
regulation of the said body corporate, as they may
|
|
|
Proviso,
|
deem proper; Provided, the same be not contrary
to the laws of this State or of the United States.
|
|
|
Vacancies.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That upon a vacancy
happening in said body corporate, the remaining
corporation shall have full power to fill such va-
cancy by electing a successor, and a majority of
the votes cast shall determine said election.

|
Real estate.
Proviso.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said body cor-
porate shall have power to hold real estate; Pro-
vided, the same does not exceed the clear annual
value of two thousand dollars.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the school commissioners for
Charles county, to pay over to the creditors of
George K. Fulmer the amount of money ascer-
tained to be due Fulmer for services as a teacher.

Authorised
to pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the school commissioners for
Charles county, be and they are hereby authorised
and directed to pay over to the creditors of George
K. Fulmer whatever amount of money they may
ascertain to be due said Fulmer for services render-
ed as teacher in primary school number nine, of
the third election district for Charles county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
