SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage,

AN ACT to compensate J. M. Hauck, sheriff of
Washington county, for services rendered and
expenses incurred by him, by authority of the
Governor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the treasurer, on the warrant
of the Comptroller, be, and he is hereby directed,
to pay J. M. Hauck, sheriff of Washington county,
the sum of seven hundred and seventy-five dollars,
for services rendered and expenses incurred by him,
under authority from the Governor of Maryland,
during the John Brown raid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 182.

AN ACT to amend the seventh section of article
thirty-three of the Code of Public General Laws,
relating to the Indigent Blind, and to make ad-
ditional provision for their instruction.
