CHAPTER 179.

AN ACT to amend the one hundred and sixth sec-
tion, relating to the salary of the Adjutant Gen-
eral, of article forty-two of the Code of Public
General Laws.

Salary,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the one hundred and sixth sec-
tion of article forty-two, of the code of public gen-
eral laws, relating to the salary of the adjutant
general, be, and the same is hereby, repealed, and
the following enacted as a substitute therefor:
That the adjutant general shall receive an annual
salary of one thousand dollars.

CHAPTER 180.

1, 1860.

AN ACT to authorise Matilda Dorsey, trustee un-
der the will of Sally Ridgely, deceased, to sell
and convey certain real estate held under said
will, in trust for certain negroes, and to invest
the proceeds under the direction of the Orphans
court of Frederick county.

Authorised
to sell land.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Matilda Dorsey, of Frederick
county, trustee under the will of Sally Ridgely, de-
ceased, duly proven and recorded in the office of
the register of wills of said county, be, and she is
hereby authorised and empowered to sell the par-
cel of land, in the first and second clauses of said
will mentioned, and devised in trust for certain ne-
groes, and upon payment of the purchase money,
to convey the said land in fee to the purchaser;

Proviso.

Provided, the said sale be reported to and confirm-
ed by the Orphans court of Frederick county.

Proceeds-
how invested.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said
trustee shall thereafter invest the proceeds of said
sale, deducting the necessary costs and expenses,
in such manner as the Orphans' court of Frederick
