seventeenth day of October eighteen hundred and
thirty six, to Samuel Arthur, and recorded in Liber
H. S. number five, one of the land records of Fred-
erick county, be and the same is hereby made from
the day of its date as good and valid in law to all
intents and purposes, and shall be deemed and
taken to have conveyed the fee simple title of the
land therein mentioned to the said Samuel Arthur,
as fully and effectually as if the same had been re-
gularly and legally executed and acknowledged,
and the execution and acknowledment thereof had
been regularly, legally and properly certified by
the justices of the peace who took the acknowledg-
ment thereof, and as if the said deed so acknowledg-
ed had been recorded within the time then re-
quired by law, it being the intention of this act to
cure any defect in the title to the land mentioned
in said deed, in the possession of those claiming
the same by, through or under the said Samuel
Arthur, or his assignee or assignees, so far forth
as the same might have been effected by any error
in the acknowledgment of said deed or the time of
its having been put on record.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the one hundred and sixty-
second section of article two of the Code of Public
Local Laws, relating to the salary of the clerk to
the commissioners of primary schools for Anne
Arundel county, be and the same is hereby re-
pealed, and the following enacted as a substitute
