CHAP. 168.

as the judges of election or a majority of them may

peace and
constables.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall be law-
ful for the legal voters of district number fifteen, to
elect two persons as justices of the peace, and two
persons as constables in and for said district, at the
time of holding the State and county elections
hereafter to be held, which said justices and con-
stables shall hold their offices for two years, re-
spectively.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to incorporate the Young Men's Christian
Association of West Baltimore.

Incorporated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John S. Berry, Hugh L. Bond,
Alexander F. Riach, Alfred Hoffman, Alexander
Rutherford, Nathaniel H. Pollock and Charles J.
Brown, and their successors, to be elected in the
manner hereinafter provided, are hereby declared
to be a body politic and corporate for the promotion
of the religious, moral and social condition of the
young men of Baltimore, under the name and title
of the trustees of the Young Men's Christian As-
sociation of West Baltimore, by which name and
title said trustees and their successors shall sue and
be sued, plead and be impleaded, and shall be
competent, at law or in equity, to hold by deed,
bequest, and devise, any interest, estate, or proper-
ty, real, personal or mixed, in possession or expec-
tancy, and the same to sell, mortgage, transfer, or

clear annual income of said estate shall not exceed
the sum of ten thousand dollars, and the said trus-
tees and their successors shall and may make and
use a common seal, and the same change and alter
