SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 167.

In force.

AN ACT to authorise the formation of a new
Election District in Allegany county.

1, 1860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John M. Armstrong, Ezekiel Fot-
ter, Elbridge G. Hall, of Allegany county, he and
they are hereby appointed commissioners, and au-
thorised forthwith to review the lines of election
districts number one, ten and fourteen in said
county, and in their discretion make such altera-
tions in the lines thereof, as thereby to form and
create a new election district in said county, to be
known and called Election District Number Fifteen.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said com-
missioners after performing the duties assigned to
them in the aforesaid section, shall make out a cer-
tificate of the lines of said new election district as
agreed upon and established by them, which shall
be returned to the clerk of the Circuit court for
Allegany county, to be by him recorded amongst
the land records at the expense of said county; and
from the time that said return shall be filed and
recorded as aforesaid, said new election district
shall be treated and considered as one of the estab-
lished election districts in said Allegany county,
and entitled to all the rights and privileges of a
new election district in said county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
herein appointed, shall be allowed such compensa-
tion for their services as the commissioners of Alle-
gany county may deem reasonable, not exceeding
two dollars per day, for every clay they shall neces-
sarily be engaged in the discharge of the duties
required by this act.
