1860.

the seventh section of an act entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Howard Street Savings Bank, passed
at December session eighteen hundred and forty-
seven, chapter eighty-eight, as declares that one-
third of the directors after the first election shall
riot be eligible at the next ensuing election, and so
on alternately in each and every year, and their
places supplied by other members, be and the
same is hereby repealed.

CHAP. 143.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the opening of a Public Road
in Howard and Montgomery counties.

29, 1860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Nicholas R. Warfield and Geo.
Ellicott, of Howard, and Walter Griffith and Frank
M. Price, of Montgomery, be and they are hereby
appointed commissioners to survey, lay out and
open a road not exceeding thirty feet in width,
starting from a point on the Woodbine road near
to Duvall's mill on the Patuxent river, and follow-
ing down said river on suitable ground to a point
opposite to a branch in Montgomery county, called
Mad Cap Spring Branch, up said Spring Branch
on suitable ground until it interests a road leading
from George Ellicott's farm, in Montgomery coun-
ty, and running upon said old road until it inter-
sects the county road leading from Damascus
through Catonsville to Washington, at a point

made and return the same to the clerk of the Cir-
cuit court of that county to be recorded, they shall
