purchasers a title as full and perfect as if the

quired by the said act of eighteen hundred and
eighteen, and return thereon made.

AN ACT to authorise the County Commission-
ers for Frederick county, to subscribe for shares
of stock in the Frederick and Emmittsburg
Turnpike Road Company.

Authorised
to take stock.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners for
Frederick county, be and they are hereby autho-
rised to subscribe for shares of stock in the Freder-
ick and Emmittsburg Turnpike Road Company,
for a share not exceeding two thousand dollars, and
to assess and levy the amount subscribed upon the
assessable property of the county.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 142.

AN ACT to repeal so much of the act entitled, an

act to incorporate the Howard Street Savings
Bank, passed December session, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-seven, as declares, that one-third
of the Directors after the first election, shall not
be eligible at the next ensuing election, and so
on alternately in each and every year until their
places are supplied by other members.

Repealed.
