CHAPTER 60.

Passed Feb.
17, 1860.

AN ACT to compensate I. Nevitt Steele, for legal
services rendered the State, in the case of the
State vs. the Baltimore and Susquehanna Steam
company, in the Court of Appeals, by appoint-
ment of the Governor.

Authorised
to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer be and he is here-
by authorised and required to pay to I. Nevitt
Steele, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, the
sum of two hundred, dollars, the same being full
compensation for the trial of the case of the State
against the Baltimore and Susquehanna Steam
company, in the Court of Appeals at the December
term, eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, by appoint-
ment of the Governor.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 61.

Passed Feb.
23, 1860,

AN ACT authorising William H. Ross, of Talbot
county, to construct a wharf on the navigable
water of Choptank River.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William H. Ross, be and he is
hereby authorised to construct a wharf on the navi-
gable water of the Choptank river, at the termina-
tion of the public road leading across Bolingbrook
Neck, to a point above Jamaica Point, on Chop-
tank river in Talbot county.

May charge
wharfage.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Wil-
liam H. Ross, shall have full power and authority
to levy, charge and collect, from all vessels of every
description whatsoever, using said wharf, the same
reasonable tolls or wharfage that may now be sanc-
tioned by law or usuage in this State, to be collected
