To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article.33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a special election held
June 11, 1949, in the Town of North Beach, Calvert County,
an Act known as Chapter 593 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of 1949, was submitted to the voters of North Beach,
for their adoption or rejection under the provisions thereof,
said Act being:

An Act to authorize and empower the Town of North
Beach to borrow from time to time an amount not ex-
ceeding $400,000 for the purpose of constructing a
water and sewerage system plant.

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 154 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 593 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1949, and 189 votes were cast against
the adoption of said Act, and a majority being cast against
the adoption of the said referred law it has therefore failed
of ratification.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
