designated by the Governor and two of whom, to serve as ex
officio members, shall be the Director of the Budget and the
Chief Engineer of the State of Maryland; and be it further
Resolved, That the said Commission be and it is hereby
authorized and directed:
(1) To assemble data and information concerning the sav-
ings to the State which may result through joint use by
various State Departments, agencies and personnel of con-
ference rooms, hearing rooms and other space, and through
joint use of postage, telephone, messenger and other services
and facilities, and concerning any other advantages or dis-
advantages which may result from the erection or acquisition
of a State Office Building;
(2) To investigate possible sites for the erection of a State
Office Building particularly in or near the business district
of Baltimore City.
(3) To investigate the possible purchase or other acquisi-
tion of an existing building or buildings for use as a State
Office Building;
(4) To have prepared preliminary plans and cost estimates
for the erection of a State Office Building;
(5) To study the existing and possible uses of the present
State Office Building at Annapolis in order that it may sup-
plement said proposed State Office Building; and
(6) To assemble all other information necessary for a com-
plete report, with recommendations, as to the advisability,
practicability and cost of erecting or otherwise acquiring a
State Office Building, or buildings, and as to the location
therefor, and to render such report to the Governor, on or
before December 1, 1950, for presentation to the 1951 Session
of the General Assembly.

ment of Public Improvements to make a survey of Blackiston
Island for the purpose of making recommendations as to
what, if anything, should be done to prevent further erosion
on said island.
