$50.00 for the first offense, not less than $25.00 and not
more than $100.00 for the second offense and not less than
$50.00 nor more than $500.00 for any subsequent offense, or
in addition to such fine in the case of such subsequent
offense, may be confined to jail for not less than 30 days nor
more than 90 days.

46. Any person who either for himself or herself or as an
agent of any other person or of any corporation, furnishes or
sells to any minor any article of any description with the
knowledge that the minor intends to sell or distribute the
article in violation of the provisions of this sub-title, or who
shall sell or furnish articles of any description to a minor or
who shall furnish or sell to any minor required to have a
license as provided by Section 29 28 any newspapers, maga-
zines or periodicals with the knowledge that said minor
intends to sell or distribute the same, shall be punished by
a fine of not less than $10.00 nor more than $50.00 for the
first offense, not less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00 for
the second offense and not less than $50.00 nor more than
$500.00 for any subsequent offense, and, in addition to such
fine in the case of such subsequent offense, may, in the
discretion of the court, be confined in jail not less than 30
days nor more than 90 days; and any sale of such articles
at less than the- current retail price thereof shall be prima
facie evidence that the person so selling had knowledge that
the minor to whom said sale was made intended to re-sell
said article.

47. Whoever continues to employ any minor in violation
of any of the provisions of this sub-title, after being notified
thereof in writing by a factory inspector, supervisor of pupil
personnel or other officer charged with the enforcement of
this sub-title, shall for every day thereafter that such em-
ployment continues be fined $20.00.

48. Whoever employs, procures, permits or suffers a minor
to be employed in violation of any of the provisions of this
sub-title, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon convic-
tion shall be fined not le-ss than $10.00 nor more than $50.00
for the first offense, not less than $25.00 nor more than
$100.00 for the second offense and not less than $50.00 nor
more than $500.00 -for any subsequent offense, or in addition
to such fine in the case of such subsequent offense, may be
confined in jail not less than 30 days nor more than 90 days.
Any employment contrary to the provisions of this sub-title
shall be prima facie evidence of guilt both as to employer and
the person having control of the child.
