INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION
SENATE RESOLUTION No. 2
By Senators Sothoron, Fraley and Kimble.
Resolution requesting the Board of Public Works to allocate
$10,000 out of any funds at its disposal to the State Planning
Commission for a preliminary study and survey of the recrea-
tional potentialities of Western Maryland.
WHEREAS, There are many areas in Western Maryland which
could be developed for recreational purposes and thereby attract
people from other sections of the country as well as provide recrea-
tional opportunities for the citizens of Maryland if such areas are
properly developed; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate of Maryland, That the Board of Public
Works be and it is hereby requested to allocate f 10,000 out of any
funds at its disposal to the State Planning Commission for the
employment of technical personnel to make a preliminary study
and survey of the recreational potentialities of Western Maryland
and to publish the results of its study and submit the same to the
General Assembly of 1951; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate send a copy of this
resolution to the Governor and to the Board of Public Works.
