SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 6
(House Bill 9)
AN ACT to add two new sections to the Prince George's
'County Code (1943 Edition) being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Laurel", sub-heading "Boundaries",
said new sections to be known as Sections 852-A and 852-B,
and to follow immediately after Section 852 of said Article,
to extend the boundaries of the Town of Laurel, Prince
George's County; to provide for certain improvements or
municipal functions within said area; to provide for pay-
ments therefor by special assessment or ad valorem tax
levied against properties in said area; to apportion taxes
collected therein; and to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Laurel to borrow money upon the faith and
credit of the Town of Laurel for the purposes set forth
herein.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
the Prince George's County Code (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Laurel", sub-head-
ing "Boundaries", said new sections to be known as Sections
852-A and 852-B, to follow immediately after Section 852 of
said Article, and to read as follows:
852-A (1) The boundaries of the Town of Laurel are hereby
extended to include the following area which is added to the
said Town: Beginning for the same at a point on the Wash-
ington-Baltimore Boulevard, being the Northeasterly corner
of Wine's addition to Laurel known as "Fairlawn" as the same
is described and recorded among the Land Records of Prince
George's County, Maryland, said point being also a point in
the present Southerly boundary of the Town of Laurel, and
running with the Easterly boundary of the said Fairlawn
subdivision along the Washington-Baltimore Boulevard to the
