ceed in the aggregate Nine Hundred and Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($950,000). The Standard Salary Board shall deter-
mine, according to the terms and directions of this Act,
which positions are entitled to the increase provided for
herein and the extent of that increase for each position, and
the Department of Budget and Procurement shall similarly
determine the amounts necessary to pay the increases herein
provided and so determined by the Standard Salary Board,
upon the certifications of the Standard Salary Board
and the Department of Budget and Procurement as to said
positions and said amounts the Treasurer of the State, shall,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the sum of
money herein appropriated for the respective objects and pur-
poses herein specified to or upon the order of the person or
persons entitled to receive the same. None of the money
hereby appropriated from General Funds shall be used or
expended for any purpose other than to pay the salary in-
crease for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1948, according
to the terms and conditions of this Act, and any and all such
moneys hereby appropriated which are not actually disbursed
and paid to State employees as herein provided shall revert
to and become a part of the General Funds of the State.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That there is hereby
appropriated unto each Department, Board, Commission and
officer of this State which, for the fiscal year beginning July
1, 1948, will have within its budget for that year one or more
positions or employees as to which there has been an increase
or adjustment in salary heretofore granted according to law,
for the payment of which it will not have sufficient money
available in its budget, a sum of money sufficient to pay, for
the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1948, the necessary increases
or adjustments over the regular budget figures for all such
positions and employees. Provided, however,. that the total
sum hereby appropriated shall not exceed Two Hundred
Seventy-seven Thousand Sixty-nine Dollars ($277,069). There
is hereby appropriated from any funds in the General Sur-
plus Fund Account of the Treasury of the State for the
fiscal year ending June 30, 1948, the total sum of Two Hun-
dred Seventy-seven Thousand Sixty-nine Dollars ($277,069)
payable in the amounts hereinabove indicated unto the re-
spective Departments, Boards, Commissions and officers meet-
ing the standards heretofore established by this section.

The Department of Budget and Procurement shall determine
which of the Departments, Boards, Commissions and officers
of the State meet the standards heretofore established by this
section as qualified to receive the sums herein appropriated;
and, upon its certification of the amounts necessary to meet
the requirements of said Departments, Boards, Commissions
and officers, respectively, the Treasurer of the State, upon the
warrant of the Comptroller, shall disburse the sum of money
