CHAPTER 75
(House Bill 56)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 19 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St.
Mary's County", sub-title "County Commissioners", said
new section to be known as Section 64A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 64 of said Article, authorizing
the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County to pay
a sum of money to the St. Mary's Hospital.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", said new section to be known as Section 64A,
to follow immediately after Section 64 of said Article, and
to read as follows:
64A. The said County Commissioners are hereby author-
ized to pay to the St. Mary's Hospital, a sum not to exceed
Thirteen Hundred Dollars ($1,300).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 76
(House Bill 58)
AN ACT to repeal Section 319A of Article 22 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Hagerstown", as amended
by Chapter 600 of the Acts of 1939, and to enact a new
Section 319A, to stand in the place and stead of the section
so separated, providing for the creation and establishment
of a Central Purchasing Department for the City of Hag-
erstown, for the appointment of a Purchasing Agent and
conferring upon the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown
the right to fix and determine by ordinance or resolution
the salary or compensation of such Purchasing Agent.
