Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Reve-
nue and Taxes", sub-title "Retail Sales Tax Act", heading
"Exemptions", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

261. (m) Sales of crutches, and sales of artificial limbs,
artificial eyes, artificial hearing devices and corrective eye-
glasses when the same are designed to be worn on the person
of the owner or user, and the sales of orthopedic appliances,
and the sales of wheelchairs for invalids.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 55
(House Bill 25)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Baltimore County", sub-title "Circuit Court", said new
section to follow immediately after Section 104 of said
Article and to be known as Section 104A, to provide addi-
tional compensation for the Judges of the Circuit Court for
the Third Judicial Circuit who reside in Baltimore County
and authorizing and directing the County Commissioners
of said county to levy a tax sufficient to pay the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be added to Article 3 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Baltimore County", sub-title "Circuit Court", said new sec-
tion to follow immediately after Section 104 of said Article,
to be known as Section 104A and to read as follows:

104A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County be
and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay to each
of the Judges of the Circuit Court for the Third Judicial
Circuit who reside in Baltimore County and who is not a
Judge of the Court of Appeals, the sum of Three Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00) annually in addition to the
salary received by each of said Judges from the State of
