CHAPTER 694.
(House Bill 326)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 63, 64, 65, 66 and 67 of Article 3 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Building Regulations",
and to substitute in lieu thereof five new sections to be
known respectively as Sections 63, 64, 65, 66 and 67 of said
Article, to follow immediately after Section 62 of said
Article; to repeal Section 68 of said Article; and to repeal
and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 70 and 71 of said
Article, all of said sections repealed relating generally to
building regulation and inspection in the several election
districts of Baltimore County, and to provide for the ap-
pointment and payment by the County Commissioners of
Baltimore County of a Buildings Engineer, Building Inspec-
tors, and other necessary personnel, prescribing the powers
and duties of the Buildings Engineer and the Building In-
spectors, including inspection of fire or panic exits in build-
ings, requiring correction of hazardous conditions therein,
and prescribing penalties for failure to comply, providing
for compliance with building rules by School Commissioners,
authorizing and empowering the County Commissioners of
Baltimore County to fix and from time to time to alter a
schedule of fees or charges for the issuance of permits for the
erection, construction, repair, alteration, remodeling, removal
or demolition of buildings or structures, or parts thereof, in
Baltimore County; requiring application and payment for
permits; providing for the disposition of monies received
from the issuance of permits, providing for procedure upon
refusal of a permit by the Buildings Engineer by reference
to the County Commissioners, with the right to appeal from
its order to the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, estab-
lishing penalties for the violation of requirements as to
securing building permits; authorizing and empowering the
County Commissioners of Baltimore County generally to
regulate the erection, construction, repair, alteration, re-
