debt in the aggregate amount of Two Million, Three Hun-
dred and Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($2, 317, 000. 00), the
proceeds thereof to be used for certain necessary building
construction and equipment purposes for the State and for
other purposes and to provide generally for the issue and
sale of Certificates of Indebtedness evidencing such loan",
said new section to be known as Section 6A, and to follow
immediately after Section 6 of said Act, authorizing the
Board of Public Works to sell the unissued bonds authorized
by said Chapter 854 and to use the proceeds thereof for cer-
tain necessary building construction.
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works, in its discretion, has
not issued some of the bonds authorized to be sold by Chapter
854 of the Acts of 1941 for the construction of certain build-
ings, due to present emergency conditions and on the grounds
that the construction of said buildings could be deferred to
a later date; and
WHEREAS, certain other emergency conditions have arisen
which require certain urgent work to be done as promptly as
possible; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works, in its discretion, has
approved of the expenditure of the proceeds from the sale of
the remaining unissued bonds, amounting to $451, 000. 00, for
the following purposes:
(1) To the State Teachers College, Salisbury, $7, 000. 00 for
general repairs;
(2) To the Montrose School for Girls, $2, 000. 00 for con-
struction of a Storage Cellar;
(3) To the Maryland Tuberculosis Sanatorium $14, 0, 00. 00
for completion of Hospital;
(4) To the University of Maryland $428, 000. 00 for con-
struction of Dormitories,
therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Chapter
854 of the Acts of 1941, entitled "An Act to authorize the
creation of a State debt in the aggregate amount of Two Mil-
lion, Three Hundred and Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($2, 317, -
000. 00), the proceeds thereof to be used for certain necessary
building construction and equipment purposes for the State
and for other purposes and to provide generally for the issue
and sale of Certificates of Indebtedness evidencing such loan",
said new section to be known as Section 6A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 6 of said Act, and to read as follows:
