42. GENERAL REGULATIONS, HOTELS, RESTAURANTS AND CLUBS
—RESTRICTIONS AFTER MIDNIGHT AND ON SUNDAY. ~No retail
dealer shall be permitted to sell any alcoholic beverages at a
bar or counter at any time between the hours of midnight and
6 A. M. or at any bar or counter on Sunday.

In Carroll, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Washington,
Wicomico and Worcester Counties, it shall be unlawful for
anyone to sell or for any licensed dealer to deliver, give away
or otherwise dispose of any alcoholic beverages on Sunday.
Any person selling or any licensed dealer delivering, giving
away or otherwise disposing of such beverages in Carroll,
Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico and
Worcester Counties on Sunday shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not exceed-
ing Fifty ($50. 00) Dollars for the first offense and for each
succeeding offense shall be fined not exceeding One Hundred
($100. 00) Dollars, or imprisoned in the County Jail for not
more than thirty (30) days, or be both fined and imprisoned;
in the discretion of the Court.

This section shall not apply to Baltimore City or Baltimore
County and shall not apply to or affect Class F Licenses issued
under the provisions of this Article, nor shall it apply to
special Class C Licenses issued in Washington County for
temporary use.

SEC. 2. And be It further enacted, That this Act shall be
submitted for adoption or rejection to the qualified voters of
Washington County at the General Election to be held in
November, 1944 There shall be printed on the ballots to be
used at said election the title of this Act and underneath said
title on separate lines a square or box to the right of and
opposite the words "For Sunday Sales of Beer", and a corre-
sponding square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"Against Sunday Sales of Beer", so that the voters shall be
able to designate by a cross-mark in the proper square or box
their decision for or against said question. If a majority of
the votes cast on said question shall be "Against Sunday Sales
of Beer77, then this Act shall continue in effect but if a majority
of the votes cast thereon shall be "For Sunday Sales of Beer77,
then this Act shall be null and void and of no effect whatsoever.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.
