808 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 627

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 4
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and Charter of
Baltimore City (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables", said new section
to be known as Section 716, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 715 of said Article, and to read as follows:

716. In addition to the Chief Judge and two Associate
Judges of the People's Court of Baltimore City, provided for
in Section 41A of Article 4 of the Constitution of Maryland,
the Governor is authorized to appoint an additional Associate
Judge of said Court, who shall be appointed by the Governor
of Maryland in conformity with the provisions of said Section
41A of Article 4 of the Constitution of Maryland. Such
Associate Judge shall receive the compensation, and shall have
the jurisdiction, powers and duties as are provided by law for
an Associate Judge of the People's Court of Baltimore City.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 627.
(House Bill 689)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 42
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Regulations
and Restrictions", as said section was amended by Chapters
65, 115, 153, 166, 177 and 849 of the Acts of 1941, making it
unlawful with certain exceptions to sell any alcoholic bever-
ages or for any licensed dealer to deliver or give away such
beverages on Sunday in Washington County, and providing
for a referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 42 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title
"Regulations and Restrictions", as said section was amended
by Chapters 65, li5, 153, 166, 177 and 849 of the Acts of 1941,
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
