elected at large and Councilmen shall be elected as are de-
termined by vote as is hereinafter provided for in this Act.
That all acts and things done on behalf of said town shall
be in the name of the Town, and that all property purchased
or otherwise acquired by said Town shall be purchased, ac-
quired and held in the name of the Town.
That, subject to the provisions of this Act, such Mayor and
Council may regulate the conduct of its business and meetings,
and the government of said Town; and a majority shall con-
stitute a quorum.
67. The said Mayor and Council shall by resolution ap-
point a Town Treasurer to be known as the Town Treasurer,
who shall also act as Clerk to the said Mayor and Council.
The salary of said Town Treasurer shall not exceed One Hun-
dred Dollars (f 100. 00) per annum, as shall be set by the
Mayor and Council.
That each officer of the town shall, before entering upon the
duties of his office, take the oath prescribed by Section 6 of
Article 1 of the Constitution of Maryland, before the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, or one of his
deputies.
That said Town Treasurer, before entering upon the
duties of his office, shall take the constitutional oath of office,
before the Mayor, or before a Justice of the Peace or other
officer or person (including a Notary Public), authorized to
administer oaths in Prince George's County. And also shall
give bond to the Town, with such surety or sureties as may by
resolution require, in the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($2, 500. 00). The cost of said bond shall be paid out
of Town funds. Said bond, or certified copy thereof, and said
oath of office, or a certified copy thereof, shall be kept among
the town records.
That said Mayor and Council may, by resolution unani-
mously adopted, remove any person from the office of Town
Treasurer whenever in the judgment of said Mayor and Coun-
cil the welfare of said Town requires such action. And any
person accepting the office of Town Treasurer, by so accepting
said office, consents and agrees that said Mayor and Council
has such power so to remove him from office and of finally
terminating any right on his part to receive further salary or
compensation, and of finally terminating any right on his
part to receive or hold any funds, money, property, records,
books, papers or other things or thing of said Town. And the
person so removed from the office of Town Treasurer shall turn
over to the said Mayor and Council any and all funds, money,
property, records, books, papers and other things or thing of
said Town in his possession within five (5) days (including
Sundays and holidays), after he shall have been notified of the
