crease of Sixty ($60. 00) Dollars per annum, may be given for
each two years of service on said police force prior to January
1, 1943, and provided, further, that no additional compensa-
tion herein authorized shall be granted except upon the recom-
mendation of the Chief of Police of Montgomery County and
as herein authorized.

786. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized,
directed and empowered to maintain in the Town of Rock-
ville, Montgomery County, an office for the Chief of the Mont-
gomery County Police and for the storage of all records and
equipment necessary for the conduct of said police, said office
to be known as and designated as "Headquarters of the Mont-
gomery County Police", and at which headquarters a member
of the Montgomery County Police Force shall always be
assigned to duty, and to maintain sub-stations at which at
least one member of the said force shall be assigned to duty
at all times, in such building or buildings, as the said County
Commissioners may designate, one of said sub-stations to be
located in or near the Town of Bethesda, and on or near the
Georgetown-Rock ville Turnpike or Wisconsin Avenue Exten-
sion, and one sub-station to be located in or near the Town of
Silver Spring on or near the Brookville Turnpike or Georgia
Avenue Extended, and one sub-station to be located in or
near the Town of Takoma Park, and other sub-stations to be
established from time to time. The County Commissioners
are authorized, directed and empowered to spend such sums
as may be necessary for the maintenance and equipment of
said headquarters and sub-stations, and are authorized and
empowered to employ necessary desk clerks for service at
headquarters and the sub-stations, who shall serve at the pleas-
ure of the Board at such compensation as the Board may from
time to time fix.

790. The County Commissioners of Montgomery County
shall have full authority and supervision of any and all mem-
bers of said Police Force, and shall pass such orders and
regulations governing their action as members of said force
as they shall in their discretion from time to time deem neces-
sary, which said orders and regulations shall be known as the
police manual. The County Commissioners shall designate
one of their number to act as Police Commissioner to exercise
general supervision on behalf of said Board of County Com-
missioners over the Police Force, and shall pay to the member
so designated, Twelve Hundred ($1, 200. 00) Dollars annually,
payable monthly, as additional compensation for such addi-
tional services in supervising and inspecting the police, and
provide transportation for said Police Commissioner.
