vision thereof, it shall not affect or make unconstitutional or
ineffective any other section, clause or provision of this Act,
and no other section, clause or provision shall be unconstitu-
tional by reason thereof.
SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
335 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County, " sub-
title "State's Attorney, " relating to the compensation of
the State's Attorney for Worcester County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 335 of Article 24 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wor-
cester County, " sub-title "State's Attorney, " be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
335. The State's Attorney for Worcester County shall re-
ceive an annual salary of fifteen hundred dollars and the
payment of such expenses as shall be approved by the County
Commissioners for the performance of the official duties of
his said office which are now or may hereafter be required
by law, said salary to be in lieu of all fees, appearance and
trial, and all other compensation, and to be payable by the
County Treasurer in monthly installments of one hun-
dred and twenty-five dollars each on the first day of
each month; and said salary shall include the compensa-
tion of said State's Attorney for services rendered before
the Justices of the Peace in said county in all criminal
cases when in the public interest he attends any hearings
or trials before said Justices; and shall include all advice
regarding criminal matters which he shall give any of said
Justices.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
