165. The County. Commissioners of Washington County
are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract
with the Washington County Free Library, whereby they
shall contract to contribute annually in perpetuity the sum
of sixty-five hundred dollars per annum for the care and
maintenance of the said, The Washington County Free
Library. In addition to the above amount, the said Com-
missioners are hereby authorized in their discretion to
appropriate not exceeding eight thousand, five hundred
dollars annually for the care and maintenance of said
Library.

382. The Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are hereby
authorized and directed, to enter into a contract with The
Washington County Free Library, whereby they shall con-
tract to contribute annually, in perpetuity, the sum of
$4, 500 per annum for the care and maintenance of the said
Washington County Free Library. In addition to the
above amount, the said Mayor and Council of Hagerstown
are hereby authorized, in their discretion, to appropriate
not exceeding $5, 500 annually for the care and mainte-
nance of said Library.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

(Senate Bill 376)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Hagerstown", to be
under new sub-heading "The Goodwill Ambulance Fire
Company", said new section to be known as Section 478A
and to follow immediately after Section 478 of said
Article, authorizing the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town to enter into a contract with The Goodwill Ambu-
lance Fire Company to contribute a certain sum of
money to its support and maintenance and to levy taxes
sufficient to provide the amount required by such con-
tract.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
