SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed upon by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of
the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 404.
(Senate Bill 164)
AN ACT to authorize and direct the State Roads Commis-
sion to construct and maintain a bridge over the Tucka-
hoe River, at New Bridge, connecting Caroline and
Talbot Counties.
Whereas, the present bridge over the Tuckahoe River,
at New Bridge, is in very bad condition and should be
replaced by a modern structure; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the State Roads Commission be and it is
hereby authorized and directed to construct and maintain
a bridge over the Tuckahoe River, at New Bridge, to con-
nect Caroline and Talbot Counties; the said bridge to be
constructed from Federal', State or County funds which
may be available for this purpose.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the State Roads Commis-
sion to take over and maintain, as a part of the State
highway system, the bridge over Stony Creek in Anne
Arundel County.
