'CHAPTER 406.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 85, 86 and 87 of Article 13
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Harford County", sub-title "County Commissioners",
being Sections 87, 88 and 89 of Higinbothom's Code of
Harford County, and to enact in lieu thereof, a new sec-
tion to be known in said Code as Section 89, providing
that it shall be unlawful for any person to pursue the
business or avocation of an Auctioneer in Harford
County, without first obtaining a license; the method of
securing said license, and the penalty for violation of
said section.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 85, 86 and 87 of Article 13 of
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Har-
ford County", sub-title "Auctioneers", being Sections 87,
88 and 89 as designated in Higinbothom's Code of Harford
County, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That a new section
be added to Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Harford County", said sub-title "Auc-
tioneers", to be known as Section 89, to read as follows:
Section 89. It shall be unlawful for any person to pur-
sue the business or avocation of an Auctioneer in Harford
County without first obtaining from the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for said County a license therefor, said Clerk
to issue said license upon payment of the sum of $12. 50,
which shall be paid by the said Clerk to the Board of Edu-
cation of Harford County for the use of public schools of
said County, after retaining therefrom the sum of 50$
for issuing said license; any person violating this Section
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof
shall be fined not more than $25. 00, said fine to be paid to
the said Board of Education of Harford County, for the
use of the public schools of said County.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the
preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.
