to be appointed by Mm and whose respective compensations
shall be fixed by him. The County Commissioners shall levy
annually said sum of Six Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars
(|6, 700. 00) and an additional sum to pay the actual traveling
expenses to which the Sheriff is entitled under Section 931 of
this sub-title.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 371.
(House Bill 494)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12
of Article 89B of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, providing for the increased use of funds of the "One
and One-half Cent Lateral Road Gasoline Tax Fund" for
the maintenance of streets, highways and Lateral and Farm
to Market Roads in Prince George's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 12 of Article 89B of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, be, and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
12. Such portion of the State Gasoline Tax as may be
allotted to Prince George's County in each year shall be dis-
tributed as follows:
There shall be first paid therefrom by the State Roads Com-
mission the salary of the road clerk to the County Commis-
sioners of Prince George's County the sum of Six Hundred
Dollars ($600. 00) per annum and the sum of Three Hundred
Dollars ($300. 00) per annum to each of the said County Com-
missioners as compensation for their services as provided by
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Roads",
or any amendments thereto.
There shall then be paid therefrom by the State Roads Com-
mission the interest, sinking funds or yearly redemption pay-
ments provided by law for said year on any bonds heretofore
issued by the County Commissioners of Prince George's County
for road purposes.
There shall then be allotted to each incorporated town in
Prince George's County a sum which bears the same proportion
