408 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 370

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 20 of Article 51 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Juries", is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

20. Jurors shall receive three dollars per day for each and
every day they shall attend the several courts of this State as
jurors, and jurors of Montgomery County shall receive six (6)
dollars per day for each and every day that they shall, attend
the several courts of this State as jurors, and fifteen cents for
each mile over five miles for going to and returning from the
court, once in each term, to be paid by the counties, respec-
tively, in which courts are held. This section shall not apply
to the City of Baltimore, nor to Calvert, Charles nor Garrett,
nor any other counties for which special local laws exist.

SEC. 2. And "be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 370.
(House Bill 491)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
932 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary*
land (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County", sub-
title "Sheriff", as said section was amended by Chapter 274
of the Acts of 1937, increasing the appropriation for pay-
ments to the deputies and clerical assistants of the Sheriff
of Prince George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 932 of Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Sheriff", as said section was amended by
Chapter 274 of the Acts of 1937, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

932. The Sheriff of Prince George's County shall be paid
the sum of Six Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($6, 700. 00)
per annum, payable in twelve (1. 2) equal monthly installments
on the first day of each month, of which sum he shall be
authorized to retain not more than Three Thousand Dollars
($3, 000. 00) for his salary, and the balance he is authorized to
use for deputy or deputies or clerical assistant or assistants
