and above the amount allowed and paid prior to the passage
of Chapter 1 of the Acts of the General Assembly in Special
Session in the year 1920. The Boards of Supervisors of
Elections of the several counties shall have power, with the
consent of the County Commissioners to increase the com-
pensation of the registration officials not more than $2. 00
per day in addition to the amount allowed and paid, prior to
passage of said Act; and, in Anne Arundel County, to increase
the allowance to judges, whether acting or sitting as officers
of registration, and clerks of election for fractions of a day
from thirty cents an hour to not exceeding fifty cents an hour.

SEC. 2. And J)e it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 362.
(House Bill 433)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 101
of Article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Caroline County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", relating to the salary of the Clerk to the
County Commissioners of Caroline County, and to the right
of removal of said Clerk.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 101 of Article 6 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

101. The County Commissioners of Caroline County shall
between the first day of March and the first day of June,
beginning with the year nineteen hundred and twenty-two,
and every two years thereafter, appoint a clerk to the County
Commissioners of said county, who shall take office on the
first day of July next ensuing his appointment and who shall
hold his office for a term of two years, subject, however, to the
right of removal by the County Commissioners at any time;
and the said clerk to the County Commissioners shall receive
a salary of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1, 500. 00) per annum,
payable in twelve (12) equal instalments of One Hundred
and Twenty-five Dollars ($125. 00) each at the expiration of
each and every month accounting from the date of his appoint-
