CHAPTER 42.
(House Bill 12)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", sub-title "Arson and Burning", said new section to
be known as Section 10A and to follow immediately after
Section 10 of said Article, providing penalty for person
setting fire to or burning a building while perpetrating, or
attempting to perpetrate, a crime.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Arson and Burning",
said new section to be known as Section 10A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 10 of said Article, and to read as follows:
10A. Any person, who, while perpetrating, or attempting
to perpetrate, a crime, shall set fire to or burn any of the
buildings enumerated in this sub-title, shall, upon conviction
thereof, be sentenced to the penitentiary for not more than
three years.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 43.
(House Bill 36)
AN ACT to repeal Section 781 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments", sub-title "Department of Correction", said sec-
tion relating to the examination of convicts by the Board
of Mental Hygiene.
WHEREAS, the essential provisions of this section are con-
tained in Section 47 of Article 59; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 781 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-
title "Department of Correction", be and it is hereby repealed.
