CHAPTER 296.
(House Bill 58)

AN ACT to add seventeen new sections to Article 58A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Loans—
Petty", said new sections to be under sub-title "Discount
Companies", to be known as Sections 23-39, inclusive, and
to follow immediately after Section 22 of said Article, re-
lating to the making of certain loans of One Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars (f 1, 500. 00) or less and providing for the
formation, regulation and licensing of corporations to make
such loans and conferring additional powers upon the Ad-
ministrator of Loan Laws concerning such corporations, to
insert sub-title "Small Loans" before Section 1 of said
Article 58A, and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 21 and 22 of said Article.

CHAPTER 297,
(Senate Bill 83)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 100 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Work—Hours of,
in Factories, " sub-title "Employment of Minors, " said new
section to be known as Section 19A and to follow immedi-
ately after Section 19 of said Article, relating to certifica-
tion of age cards for minors over sixteen years of age.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
100 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Work—Hours of, in Factories, " sub-title "Employment of
Minors", said new section to be known as Section 19A, to fol-
low immediately after Section 19 of said Article, and to read
as follows:

19A. The officer authorized under this Article to issue
employment permits, shall, upon application by any minor
over 16 years of age residing within the area where such offi-
cer is so authorized, issue to such minor a certificate of age
card, certifying the age of such minor, upon receiving from
the minor in person, and upon examining, and approving,
proofs and evidence of age of the same type and in the same
order as required under Section 14 of this Article for the issu-
ance of an employment permit.
