to Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", to be under sub-
title "Police", said new section to be known as Section
233A, to follow immediately after Section 233 of said
Article, and to read as follows:
233A. The County Commissioners of Calvert County
are hereby authorized to appoint two police for the County,
to prescribe their duties and compensation and to include
sufficient funds in the levy each year to pay for same.
The police officers so appointed by the County Commis-
sioners shall have all the authority and powers possessed
by deputy sheriffs of the State of Maryland, under the
general laws of the State or the local laws of Calvert
County, in so far as such powers are in reference to the
criminal jurisdiction of said deputy sheriffs in making ar-
rests or in any manner enforcing the laws of the State.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 270.
(Senate Bill 301)
AN ACT to repeal Section 291 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "Galesville, " making
it unlawful for the captain of any vessel to land an excur-
sion party at Galesville on the Sabbath Day.
WHEREAS, this section seems no longer applicable; there-
fore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 291 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition, ), title "Anne
Arundel County, " sub-title "Galesville, " be and it is hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.
