the center line of Hamilton Street (formerly Columbia Avenue
and Owens Avenue) to its intersection with the center line of
Forty-second (formerly Wine) Avenue; thence along the center
line of Forty-second Avenue to its intersection with the center
line of Gallatin Street; thence along the center line of Gallatin
Street to the point of beginning.

Ward number two shall embrace all of that part of the said
town bounded as follows: Beginning for the same at the inter-
section of the eastern boundary of the town with the center
line extended of Gallatin Street, and running westerly along
the center line of said Gallatin Street to its intersection with
the center line of Forty-second Avenue; thence along the cen-
ter line of Forty-second Avenue to its intersection with the
center line of Hamilton Street; thence along the center line of
Hamilton Street to its intersection with the western boundary
of the town; thence along the western boundary of the town to
its intersection with the center line of Oglethorpe Street (for-
merly Arundle Avenue); thence along the center line of Ogle-
thorpe Street to its intersection with the eastern boundary of
the town; thence along the eastern boundary of the town to
the point of beginning.

Ward number three shall embrace all of that part of the said
towTn which lies north of the center line of Oglethorpe Street.

'504A. In April, 1943, there shall be a general registration
of voters in each ward as newly created by the aforegoing sec-
tion and at the general election in May, 1943, there shall be
elected two councilmen for each of the three new wards, one to
hold office for a term of two years, to expire at the first regular
meeting of the said Mayor and Common Council in May, 1945,
and one councilman to hold office for a term of four years, to
expire at the first regular meeting of the Mayor and Common
Council in May, 1947, and upon the expiration of their respec-
tive terms, their successors shall be elected for the term of four
years each as provided by law. All Councilmen elected under the
provisions of this section shall possess all of the qualifications,
and have all of the powers and obligations of councilmen of
said town as now provided by law, and any vacancies which
may occur among such councilmen shall be filled as now pro-
vided by law. The Mayor and Common Council of Hyattsville
shall also have the power, at any time after passage of this Act,
after notice thereof and opportunity for public hearings as the
Mayor and Common Council shall provide and direct, to divide
any and all of the wards of the said town into two or more
voting precincts as public convenience or public welfare, in
their discretion, may require or direct.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
