ture of the dealer and shall be displayed as registration cards
are now required to be displayed; and provided further that
before the dealer shall subscribe and furnish such permission
to such purchaser, such dealer shall have received from the pur-
chaser the written application for registration and certificate
of title of the said motor vehicle and the prescribed fees there-
for and shall forward the same by mail or messenger to the
Department within ten days from date of sale.

40. TRANSFERS TO DEALERS, (a) When the transferee of
a vehicle is a registered dealer or registered used car dealer
who holds the vehicle for resale and lawfully operates
the vehicle under dealer registration plates such transferee
shall not be 'required to obtain a new registration of said
vehicle nor be required to forward the certificate of title to the
Department, but such transferee upon transferring his title or
interest to another person shall execute and acknowledge an
assignment and warranty of title upon the certificate of title
and deliver the certificate of title to the person to whom such
transfer is made.

(b) In the event of the sale or transfer of the ownership,
certificate of registration or title of a motor vehicle from one
Maryland registered dealer or registered used car dealer to
another Maryland registered dealer or registered used car
dealer, such registered dealer or registered used car dealer,
without applying for a new title may reassign an assignment
or reassignment of such ownership, certificate of registration
or title, such reassignment to be on forms furnished by the
Department and shall include a statement under oath of all
liens and encumbrances on said motor vehicle and shall de-
liver the same to the purchaser or transferee at the time of
delivery to him of such motor vehicle.

41. NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF NEW MOTOR VEHICLES BY DEALER
AND ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE. Every manufacturer, dealer
or distributor, upon acquiring new motor vehicles, shall
within twenty-four hours after receipt thereof, apply to
the Department for a certificate. Such applications shall be
made upon forms prescribed and furnished by the Department
and shall contain the make of vehicle, model, engine and
serial numbers and any other information that the Depart-
ment may require. When the Department is satisfied with
the evidence submitted in such applications, a certificate will
be issued, without charge, which will allow the manufacturer,
dealer or distributor to hold the vehicle described therein for
resale, display, demonstration or test.

Application for a certificate of registration of a new motor
vehicle must be accompanied by a Certificate of Manufacture,
