Whereas, it is the general consensus of opinion upon the
part of the residents of Talbot County, and of the Town of
Easton in particular, that said County and Town should
avail themselves of the provisions contained in Article 1A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, entitled "Aeronautics",
sub-title "Airports, " and
Whereas, provision has heretofore been made by said
County and Town whereby the acquisition of land neces-
sary to the proposed project is assured, title to same having
already been conveyed to said County Commissioners of
Talbot County and to The Mayor and Council of Easton,
as tenants in common, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That The Mayor and Council of Easton be and
it is hereby authorized and empowered to purchase and
expend as a capital expenditure for and on behalf of said
Town of Easton, an amount not exceeding the sum of
Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25, 000. 00) for said pur-
chase of lands, easements, rights of way and any other
rights appurtenant to said lands or necessary to the full
use and enjoyment thereof and to defray one-half of the
cost of constructing a building or buildings thereon, the
same to be owned as tenant in common with the County
Commissioners of Talbot County and to be used and main-
tained as an Airport as provided for in Article 1A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, 1939 Edition, provided, how-
ever, that the funds made available under this Act shall be
in lieu and take the place of, any other funds which might
or could have otherwise been available for the purposes
herein expressed, under Section 129 of Article 21 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Talbot
County", sub-title "Easton",
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said County
Commissioners of Talbot County, their successors in office
and assigns, and The Mayor and Council of Easton, their
successors in office and assigns, shall bear equally all costs,
expenses and outlays in connection with the maintenance
and operation of the project herein provided for and that
they shall share equally all revenues and profits to be de-
rived from the sale, operation or lease of the same.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That nothing con-
tained herein shall be construed as limiting said Article 1A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland in the application of
its provisions to the said The Mayor and Council of Easton,
but that this Act may be taken and construed as being in
