1684 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 975

1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Teachers Salaries",
said new section to be known as Section 620B and to follow
immediately after Section 620A of said Article as said section
was enacted by Chapter 344 of the Acts of 1939, and to read as
follows:

620B. (a) That in addition to the f200. 00 to be paid them
, under and by virtue of the provisions of Senate Bill. No. 147r
Chapter 739 of the Acts of 1943, as enacted by the General
Assembly of Maryland at its session of 1943, the Board of
Education of Allegany County, Maryland, is hereby author-
ized, empowered and directed to pay every teacher (including;
supervisors, principals and attendance officers) now or here-
after employed in the public school system of Allegany County,,
Maryland, who is now receiving an annual salary of less than
|3, 000. 00, in addition to his regular salary and the aforesaid
sum of |200. 00, a payment of f 100. 00 from funds levied for
that purpose by the County Commissioners of Allegany
County; that the aforesaid additional payment shall be made
in ten (10) instalments of f 10. 00 per month, beginning October
1, 1943; provided, however, that if any teacher's salary, plus
the $100. 00 herein provided for and the $200. 00 provided for
in Senate Bill No. 147, should amount to more than $3, 000. 00,.
then said teacher, supervisor, principal or attendance officer,
as the case may be, shall receive only that portion of said
$300. 00 which when added to his present salary gives him a
total annual compensation of $3, 000. 00; provided also that no
teacher shall receive any portion of this increase except during
his term of service as a teacher of the public schools of Alle-
gany County.

(b) That every teacher (including supervisors, principals
and attendance officers) employed in the public school system
of Allegany County, Maryland, on September 1, 1944, receiving
an annual salary of less than $3, 000. 00 shall receive in addition
to his regular salary as now provided by law a payment of
$300. 00 from funds to be levied for that purpose by the County
Commissioners of Allegany County, to cover the period of
services to be rendered from September 1, 1944 to July 31,
1945. The payment to said teachers for said last named period
shall be made in ten (10) instalments of $30. 00 per month,
beginning October 1, 1944; provided, however, that if any
teacher's salary for the last named period, plus the $300. 00
herein provided for, should amount to more than f 3, 000. 00, then
he shall receive only that portion of $300. 00 which when added
to his salary for said period gives him a total annual com-
pensation of $3, 000. 00. With respect to said additional pay-
ments to be provided for said teachers for the period from:
