active services terminated, whichever is the more recent in
point of time; provided that such former judge was, at the
time of the termination of his active service, at least sixty years
of age, otherwise said pension shall be paid from the date
when such former judge reached sixty years of age after pen-,
sions became payable under said Chapter 390 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1941; provided, further, that nothing
in this Act shall be construed to reduce the amount of any
pensions being received by any Judge on May 31, 1943.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 967.
(House Bill 199)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 224
and 225 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title
"Revenue and Taxes", sub-heading "County Treasurer", Sec-
tion 225 having been amended by Chapter 144 of the Acts
of 1935, relating to the compensation and duties of the
Treasurer of Wicomico County, and providing for a referen-
dum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 224 and 225 of Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicom-
ico County", sub-title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-heading
"County Treasurer", Section 225 having been amended by
Chapter 144 of the Acts of 1935, be and they are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

224. The Treasurer shall receive as compensation for his
services as Treasurer an annual salary of f 3, 000, payable by
Wicomico County. The said Treasurer shall devote hi$ entire
time and attention to the duties of his office and shall keep
his office open for the transaction of business during the hours
when the county offices are open.

225. If it shall become necessary to employ any Clerk or
Clerks in the office of the Treasurer, the Treasurer, by and with
the consent of the County Commissioners, may employ same at
