alleys, water and sewerage system and the sewerage dis-
posal plant, buildings, offices, machinery, tools, motor
equipment, etc., and shall be responsible for its care, use
and upkeep; he shall have charge and direction of the
working forces of the town and shall oversee any work
performed under contract; he shall attend the meetings of
the Commissioners when directed and shall advise them as
to the condition of the public works as above defined; he
shall incur no expenditure of public funds except as author-
ized by the Commissioners.

y. All police officers including the Chief of Police shall
act under the immediate direction of the Chairman of the
Board of Commissioners or the Commissioner appointed by
the Board to supervise this work, and shall perform such
duties as they may direct; he shall preserve the peace;
prevent disorderly or irregular meetings and shall enforce
all ordinances of the town; he shall serve such notices
and process required by this Charter or by any ordinance
passed by virtue thereof, as directed.

10. The Commissioners shall allow the officers of the
Town such compensation for their services as may be
deemed reasonable, and may appoint the same person to
perform the duties of more than one office.

11. All officers named by the Commissioners shall be-
fore entering upon their respective duties take an oath
similar to the one hereinbefore prescribed for the Com-
missioners in such manner as to be applicable to their
respective offices.

12. The Commissioners shall require the Treasurer to
give a corporate bond in the penalty of Ten Thousand Dol-
lars ($10, 000. 00), for the faithful performance of the
duties of his office, including the collection and accounting
for all sums of money due the Town of Aberdeen. The
Commissioners may also require any of its other officers
to give a corporate bond in the amount they may deem
necessary, conditioned for the faithful performance of
their duties. Said bonds shall be filed with the said Com-
missioners and the premium thereon paid by the said Town.

13. The term of the officers appointed by the Commis-
sioners provided for in this Charter shall begin as of the
day of the respective appointment and such offices shall
be held by the appointees until removal from office, resig-
nation or death and the Commissioners may fill any vacancy
so caused.
