CHAPTER 896.
(Senate Bill 530)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 10 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Dorchester County", sub-title "Licenses", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 364A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 364 of said Article, requiring a
permit from the County Commissioners of Dorchester
County before the beginning, the erection, repair, or
improvement of any building or structure of any kind
in Dorchester County, costing more than Five Hundred
Dollars ($500. 00).

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 10
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Licenses", said
new section to be known as Section 364A and to follow
immediately after Section 364 of said Article, and to read
as follows:

364A. It shall be unlawful f or any person, firm or cor-
poration to build, erect, repair or improve any building or
structure in Dorchester County, costing in excess of Five
Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), without having first obtained
from the County Commissioners of Dorchester County a
building permit therefor.

Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions
of this Section shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to
a penalty of Fifty Dollars ($50. 00), payable to the County
Commissioners of Dorchester County, aforesaid, one-half
of which shall be paid by the owners of said property and
one-half by the contractor or builder, said penalty to be
recovered as small debts are recovered.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.
